It works by simply reading the text of your website, checking for relevant advertising terms, and replaces some text on your website with hover-link advertisements. Vibrant Media is probably the leader in in-text advertising, running on major sites such as ABC News and Fox News. So why Kontera?

Kontera lets you choose what your visitors see in the in-text pop-ups. If a relevant ad for "Suburban Truck" comes up, you can choose to display just text in the pop-up, text with a little photo banner, or even a video! This is very helpful because a website that is based around photography might get a better click-thru rate by showing a photo next to the advertising text, and same with video websites. You can also choose what color you want your Kontera hyperlinks to be, and you can also exclude any portion of your website you don't want ads on.
Can it work for me?
Absolutely. You might even earn more than you are currently earning with your other ads. This is because when a visitors is reading your website they are focused on the article at hand. If they read some interesting text and see a relative link next to it, they are more likely to click that relevant ad as opposed to the Google ad sitting in your sidebar. So really concentrate on making sure Kontera in-text ads are working before going on to other ad units.
