Who would have thought that looking directly into the sun could have adverse affects on your health? Sure they were looking for the Virgin Mary, but I guess she was busy.

It happened in India, and reports say at least 50 people are blind after trying to find the Virgin Mary in the sun. "All our patients have similar history and symptoms… They have developed photochemical, not thermal, burns after continuously gazing at the sun," Dr Annamma James Isaac, the hospital's ophthalmologist said.

Apparently these were separate incidents. Somebody reported seeing the Virgin Mary in the sky, and now people are looking for her, and going blind in the process. These 50 people were admitted to the hospital over the course of three days. Churches in the area have disowned the miracle after health officers and doctors approached the clergy.
